Project Summary:
In this research project, we will investigate how tumor cells in IDH-mutant astrocytomas form interconnected networks that help them grow, invade healthy tissue, and resist treatment.
Using advanced imaging and molecular profiling techniques, we will compare different regions within the same tumor to understand how these networks change as the disease progresses. We will also develop patient-derived laboratory models that preserve these network features to test potential therapies.
Our goal is to identify the molecular drivers of network formation and find new drugs that can disrupt tumor cell communication, ultimately improving treatment options for patients with this challenging disease.
