Sabrina Kaiser Consortium for Astrocytoma Research (SKCAR)
As of now the “Sabrina Kaiser Consortium for Astrocytoma Research” (SKCAR) is the core element of the foundation's activities.
An initial sum of one Million Euro is being granted to five research projects focussing on improved therapies for IDH Mutant Astrocytomas (WHO 2-4).
All Projects are located in the Heidelberg-Mannheim region, and a collaborative nature of projects is encouraged. Regular consortial meetings are taking place, allowing room for exchange of ideas and methodologies.
The following outstanding researchers and their projects have been selected for funding:
Dr. Salma Baig and Dr. Sophie Heuer
Tumor networks and Cancer Neuroscience of Astrocytoma: Understanding and targeting tumor-intrinsic and extrinsic networks
Dr. Haikun Liu and Dr. Miriam Ratliff
